Here's a craft that my four year old twins had a BLAST making all by themselves. (With the exception of actually pouring the paint)!

 

Our Thanksgiving Turkey was created from a toilet paper roll (which the kids saved just for projects like these). A sunny day and a couple bottles of paint and a turkey was created! Materials: Paper Plate Scissors Scraps of Red and Yellow/Orange Foam or construction paper googly Eyes Fall Paint colors including Brown Craft Tube or Toilet Paper Roll White glue Brushes Water Newspaper for protecting your paint surface How To Make a Toilet Paper Roll (Craft Tube) Turkey: * Optional: Paint your Toilet Paper roll brown- we chose to do this step because we still wanted to paint!~ Cut the bottom third of a paper plate straight across to give a straight bottom edge for the tail feathers. Paint the paper plate any way that pleases you. Add a face to your turkey: Triangle beak (from orange/yellow) , a waddle (red) and add googly eyes. Allow this face to dry before trying to add the tail feathers (paper plate) Once the feathers and face are dry glue them together. Enjoy your creation!!   Looking for more thanksgiving crafts? So this website grew from a place to store all our holiday kids crafts to one that shows off our home school learning crafts on the topics of the kid's choice.

The children in turn have become creative designers and are working on their own craft ideas, personal interest websites and business blogs. Yes, they are only in elementary school. However, in this house we focus on each child choosing a business to explore and create.
