What's better than a Pilgrim Coloring page? Pilgrim Coloring pages that are historically accurate that can be used to recreate the Plymouth Village and the first Thanksgiving Celebration!

Cute pilgrims in black and white costumes with buckles are in abundence on the internet. However, we want to teach the children historically accurate information on the past. These paperdolls were created with more accurate costuming. (Utilizing www.plimoth.org description of clothing). Of course, they ARE still printable kids crafts so the faces are sweet and its easy to color and play with. We created a background as well that can be glued to a cereal box for the kids to act out scenes to their liking.

Printable Indian paper dolls are very hard to find. We created 3 different Wampanoag warriors (there were 90 that were there the firstTthanksgiving) as well as a young native American child. (We don't know how many children or women might have visited after the warriors determined that all was well). Expect more images to come as the children have already asked for different poses. Encourage your kids to add items that might have been useful in preparing for a feast for a hundred people. Many of the dolls were left with open hands to encourage creativity.

 

This is a simple easy homemade Thanksgiving table decoration. Utilize this as a Thanksgiving classroom activity. You are welcome to print as many as you would like for your personal and classroom use (please keep the copyright information intact).
