Easter Kids Craft Ideas
Easter is the time when we celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus from the dead. Its story tells us of triumph over death and evil and of new beginnings. In modern times, common symbols associated with Easter are eggs and bunnies. Eggs and rabbits represent new beginnings and new life. These modern symbols of Easter are also more children friendly. But it is important to start the activity by reading the story of Easter from their Children’s Bible. Then explain to the kids why we associate bunnies and eggs with Easter so that the meaning of the season is not lost.
For the fun part, here are two exciting activities that your kids can do for Easter. You can never go wrong with designing your own Easter egg and decorating your Easter bunny cookie. These are also great ideas for your early spring activities.
Materials for designing Easter eggs: large boiled eggs, paint, paint brush, apron
Materials for designing the Easter bunny cookie: baked sugar cookies shaped like a bunny, tiny marshmallows, chocolate chips, chocolate drippings, piping bags, piping tips, frosting of different colors, apron
These activities are very simple. Just put the materials in front of the kids and let them do their own thing in designing the eggs and cookies. Be sure to put a newspaper or placemats on the activity table so that it would be easier to clean when they are done. Yes, it’s going to be a bit messy but we assure you, it’s a whole lot of fun. So, let them put their aprons on and start decorating their eggs and cookies.
