Shepherd : Advent Christmas Crafts

Here are some excellent kids craft ideas. We use these each year in our house. These Christmas crafts emphasize the TRUE meaning of Christmas - Jesus Christ's birth. Religious Christmas crafts are suitable for church, Sunday School and family gatherings. Take time away from the hustle and bustle of commercialism and gather your family for some Christian Christmas Crafts.

 

A shepherd is a person who cares for sheep. he makes sure they have enough to eat, he takes care of them if they get sick, and he keeps away other animals that might hurt the sheep. On the night Jesus was born, there were many shepherds on the hills around Bethlehem watching over their flocks of sheep.

 

Here are two of my FAVORITE shepherd crafts. They involved pictures of our own kids as shepherds. The first is an image group from Activity Village in the UK. They have a complete Nativity scene for the children to color. Sweet images that can be used in the Sunday School room, classroom or at home.

Simply print, color and find your favorite picture to glue as the face of your shepherd. Add a string and hang as an ornament or print on card stock and fold back the bottom to create a standing figure.

Print, cut your favorite picture and glue. Add a string and hang. Couldn't really call it a craft per se but its really cute and great for my little one who can't do more than pat the glued down face and carry the completed project to the tree.
