and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

 

Here are some excellent kids craft ideas. We use these each year in our house. These Christmas crafts emphasize the TRUE meaning of Christmas - Jesus Christ's birth. Religious Christmas crafts are suitable for church, Sunday School and family gatherings. Take time away from the hustle and bustle of commercialism and gather your family for some Christian Christmas Crafts.

 

There are a lot of baby Jesus Nativity crafts on the internet. We used some of the examples provided as inspiration.The craft stick manger makes an adorable Christmas decoration it can be displayed on a mantle, end table or shelf. Based on the craft supplies we had on hand we came up with our own Manager craft. Using popsicle sticks, a plastic spoon and foam stars we created a simple manger and sleeping baby Jesus craft that reflects the true meaning of Christmas.

 

Materials

Popsicle stick Manager Craft:

8 - 10 Popsicle crafts sticks

white glue

rubber bands

excelsicor, dry grass or twine for hay

pipecleaner

foam or wood star(s)

 

 

Use the pictures to guide you through this craft as it is difficult to explain.

Glue 3 -5 horizontal popsicle sticks to the two vertical sticks that will act as legs. We used white glue and had to wait but it allowed the kids to make it all themselves. If you want to speed up the process then use hot glue.

Attached both sides together rubber banding the legs (this will allow us to close up the manager after the season and store it flat. You can however add a dab of glue to the legs once assembled to keep your craft manger open and add more stablity.)

The star above is optional however a very sweet touch. Simply glue a star to the end of a pipecleaner/ chenile stem and once dry attach it to the manger by wrapping the bottom around one set of the legs.

 

Plastic Spoon Baby Jesus

Plastic spoon

scrap piece of construction or kraft paper

marker

2 tissues

white glue

 

Draw and cut a for a face

Glue it to the spoon

Wrap tissue (klenex) around the handle of the spoon and attach with a couple drops of glue

 

Lay Jesus in your completed manger to dry.

 

 

 

White glue produces wonderful results but it will take time to dry. After gluing the side of the manger...print out a Stable Coloring Page and color it in to create an impressive background for your manger craft.

The instructions here are pretty self explaintory: with your material of choice in hand paint or draw a simple face (eyes opened or closed)

Wrap the body in felt or scrap cloth and lay him in the Manger.
