Holiday Kids Craft: Free Christmas Crafts Here is almost two dozen spectacular EASY kids crafts that will make perfect gifts!
Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday and I love decking out the house with handmade crafts ESPECIALLY those not so perfect (filled with glitter and crooked lines) Christmas crafts kids make over the the years. The weather keeps us indoor more...so we pull out our craft supplies and start creating handmade holiday kids crafts for family and friends. Here is a collection of some of our easy kids craft favorites. Over the years, we have made candycane crafts, angel ornaments, handprint santas, clothes pin reindeer, tissue paper wreaths, and nature centerpieces. I’ve found it is always a good idea to have a simple, seasonal craft project in mind when you have a group of kids for a holiday. It brings them together and adds an element of tradition to the festivities. REMEMBER: The holidays should be about creating positive lifelong memories.
We have provided you simple printable instructions with photos of each project so children as young as four can complete the tasks and most can be modified for a mixed group with even younger children.

Crafting and Kids
These seasonal crafts, coloring pages and activities are geared for ages 3 to 8 years old. In Hawaiian the word 'Luau' means feast.
And a luau is given for any reason, at anytime it's a fun loving, food filled party with good friends and family.
You can do it up really big or tone it down and just have a touch of the islands.
It's up to you and your imagination. I’ve found it is always a good idea to have a simple, seasonal craft project in mind when you have a group of kids for a holiday. It brings them together and adds an element of tradition to the festivities. Holidays should be about creating positive lifelong memories.
While your children may not be able to participate in much of the cooking of Luau dinner or purchasing Luau gifts, you can put them to use by allowing them to decorate the house in anticipation with handmade Luau crafts. Our tradition is to set up a craft table with several different projects at the Luau Dinner gathering.
We use those crafts as presents for visiting family and decorations for our home.

Personalize your own luau birthday party invitations designed for boys OR girls, make a table top Luau with hawaiian themed coloring pages, Luau Paper dolls and kid crafted decorations. Kids love crafts! You can see the sparkle in their eyes when they make things with their hands- painting, coloring or simply cutting out pictures you can see their imagination working. A tropical party Luau remains the favorite theme for summer parties. We've always had great success incorporating crafts into our family luau parties that are usually hosted in the middle of winter for a change of pace and a bit of island paradise! Having island themed parties is a family tradition. Living in Hawaii for some years just adds to the fun of creating a tropical Hawaiian Celebration. Don't just center your party around the food! Having crafts gives parents a bit of a break to have adult conversation, and a chance to grab some munchies without little ones vying for a spot on Mom's lap.

Materials:paper cup construction paper: red, yellow, blue, white crayons or markers scissors glue optional: googly eyes
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cover a paper cup with red construction paper. (or save a step and pick up a bunch of red cups at the dollar store) 2. RED CONSTRUCTION PAPER:Cut a circle for the head out of red construction paper. Cut an oval for the top of the wing. Trim the bottom of the oval with a zig zag shape to represent feathers. 3.WHITE CONTRUCTION PAPER: cut a smaller circle for the cheeks out of white Small circles for the eyes. (add black eyeballs and eyelashes) and Cut a dimond for the beak (add some nose holes with black marker or crayon) 5. YELLOW & BLUE CONSTRUCTION PAPER: The wings are made from three layers of paper cut in a half oval with feathers decorating the bottom (see picture) Cut long strips for the tail pieces as well. 6. Glue on the face and the wings & tail and allow the bird to dry entirely before playing with them.
