Poinsetta Paper Flower

 

Materials

Red and green construction paper

Cardstock or paper plate

yellow dot sticker

Grey, brown or black marker or crayon

scissors

white glue

 

Instructions

 

Cut 5 Red petals from construction paper.

Fold a piece of red construction paper. Cut a half petal shape out along the fold, so that when you open your petal it's symmetrical (the same on both sides) with a fold down the center. Repeat this process until you have five petals.

Cut 3 Green Petals for Leaves

Now fold a piece of green construction paper and cut half of a leaf shape out along the fold so that you have a symmetrical leaf. Repeat until you have 3 leaves.

Optional: draw veins in the leaves to add a touch of realism

Glue the leaves down on a piece of paper (or a paper plate if you are making a wreath)

Add the red petals on top of the leaves overlapping them slightly.

Add a yellow office dot to the middle.

Draw dots with marker to the middle of the flower.

 

Optional: repeat this process to make a beautiful wreath or centerpiece. Glue to cardstock for a handmade ornament.

Glue to craftsticks for a centerpiece. The options are endless.
